Default How reliable is the 230TE?

I'm thinking about buying a 1984 230TE from a mechanic.

He said it's a European model thus is pretty reliable.

How reliable is it really? How many miles do they usually go for?

I know it's a hard question to answer because reliability also depends on the maintenance history. But it will be good to know if there are typical costly repairs that come along with that model. I'm having a hard time finding any review about it online.

Thanks in advance.

It's been around 26 years already. Doesn't that tell you?
