Default Fuel Economy Great fuel saving tips

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

With petrol prices rising every week I was wandering what fuel economy others are getting.
I am currnetly getting on my 300 3 litre 24 valve, 500kms or 300 miles to each tank of fuel around town so about 17 mpg. I thought I should be able to get more.
Is any one out there getting better milage?
I have found a good page on fuel saving tips which I am going to use and see if this can get better http://www.autobrakeservice.com.au/fuel_economy.php

I am averaging about 350 miles per tank in my E420 which is impressive for a V8. I believe it has an 18 gallon tank and fill-ups usually are around 15.5 gallons.
I do not play with the pedal, try to avoid fast take offs and slow downs and keep it tuned up and breathing with K&N filters.

Yes, there is. My E320 averages 18-19 MPG on freeway driving, my Jetta tdi 32 MPG with the same speeds.
Only wish I could find affordable Mercedes cdi in California.
