ESP Error E280 (W210)
Hi,
I have an intermittent problem but have narrowed it down hopefully. Symptom. Warning light BAC/ESP comes on with an ESP error displayed on screen. Car goes into limp mode. Stop switch engine off and restarts then I can continue driving. This happens when decelerating (NOT Braking). What could cause this as I’m sure it’s not Brake related. This happens 3 - 4 times per day.
The previous time I experienced these symptoms the auto electrician found the Air Mass Sensor to be faulty, but surely it can’t go faulty again after only 1 year. I took it out and it’s not even dirty. On all the MB forums the guys say the car get sluggish and the accelerator does funny thing when the AMS is dirty or faulty.
Please assist.
Regards,
Johann

Hello - have you tried pulling the car's fault codes to see where the issue is coming from?
