Default EIS problem

hi,
I have E280 2000, whene I put my key and turn itwon't turn at all and can't hear the sound for unlocking as before !

got it to the dealer and he told me it's an EIS problem and I have to change it, is that right?

so do I have to order an EIS based on my VIN number or no need to be programmed already for my VIN number ? because someone told me when I buy an EIS and connect it to my car so it will be programmed directly by the computer so then I use my key to tuun it on, is that right?

any idea about EIS please.
thanks,

sorry my English is not that good*

as far as I know. you need to get an eis from the dealership. you need a yellow key which needs to be ordered from the dealer. this will program your eis to your car. this is not something you can do yourself.....as far as i know. are you sure the car battery is fine? low voltage can cause the EIS not to work.
