For sure E500 if under your budget. V8 vs V6.

2003 is a bad year for any model E-Class. StarTech is kinda right about operating cost. The E500 will have more power, mush more fun to drive.

Hi, I have just purchased an 03 E500 for $27k. It has 25k miles and looks like new.

After some days of bartering with a dealer, I got it down from 29,950.

There were two service bulletins outstanding which were done free of charge, and I'm now frantically trying to find anything that needs doing before the warranty runs out in two weeks!!

I like the V8, and the gearbox got some good reviews. It's fairly quick with a tad over 300 HP. Being able to control the shift makes a lot of difference to the get up and go.

There is or was a 500 waggon in Dallas for the same money, it was an 04 but had 3X the miles. I accepted the older one because of the milage really.

Here is a really cool web site go – E500 saloon. Continue. More Details.

Don't be put off by the pages of menus under Ofor Operating system.

Good luck Rob.

My friend has 2002 e 320 and lots of problems with Air Mas Flow sensor, spakg plugs and coil. He replace all of the above was good for 5months and now has similar problems ( vibrations, loss of power etc ).
Does 2003/2004 E320 has same problmes or this is modifed engine?
Does e 500 has same or other issues?

What would be better choice: 2004 e320 with under 40K or 2003 e500 with under 60K?

Thanks for all advice

I would go for the 04. is is slightly a better model year than the 03. plus less miles is always a good thing

I will make my decisionwithin 1 week.
I am looking at 2003 e500 with 57K miles for 25.800usd
or 2004 e320 with 45K miles for same price.

I test drove both of the engines and am happy with 320 as far power go. Other than that are there any other reason to go with e500?

What you guys think?

I have ready about gear problems. Any advice on how to find out if its ok?

Should i look for any other issues with this vehicles?

Thanks for help.
