I had a 1999 E320cdi diesel estate 150 K Miles.Just sold it and bought the same car 2002 130 k miles--both full MB service history.The old one I could get 45 mpg on a long run but the newer one only 38 mpg--anyone any idea why and is the computer reliable and accurate ?

I have a friend who has an identical car to mine same year same mileage and she can get 45.8 mpg on a run according to her computer-- ??????????

 

It is possible to get a few extra MPG with the wind at your back .... I have an 05 CDI that has gotten 43.2mpg in such conditions when it normally only gets 39.5.
