Default E320 Water pump change

[]I have a new water pump to install on the 104 engine but things keep getting
in the way. Like I can't get to the two screws on the bottom of the water pump.

What's the best way to do it?

Default RE: E320 Water pump change

I did one a few months ago. What year is your car? Straight 6 or V6?

Mine is a straight 6. You need long hex wrench to get at the bottom screws. I bought a set from Sears. I think I had to unscrew the power steering pump and move it out of the way so I have room to get at the screws. Be careful not to strip the screw heads as I did one. I had to drill the screw head and get a new screw.

It would be a god time to change the belt if it is about time.
