I have just brought a 1998 e320 and my sunroof, front interior lights and auto dip mirror don't work.

The rear interior lights work when I open the door but they don't work on the switch that is on the roof next to the sunroof switch.

The front interior lights dont work off the switch or when i open the door. Also the sunroof doesnt work. The whole panel seems dead. I have checked fuse 4 under the rear seat and it is fine.

I have no problem with any of the windows at all.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

 

I do not have a shop manual in front of me but, right off hand I would say it is a connection going up to the switch group on by the light. It will take a multimeter to find the problem. It will be the source wire to the sunroof and the light switch. Since the light works sometimes (in the "auto" position) You should be be able to wring it out although you may have to trace the wire into the harness or a plug in the lower console. This may or may not be a bugger to find. Just the opinion of a EE with 50 years of troubleshooting errent wiring.

 

I have the opposite problem... the light doesn't come on automatically when the door is open, but works from the switch. Kind of irritating, but I don't know what to do to fix it.

 

Driver side seats aren't responding. I heard in another forum about a method to resync the seats/steering position/mirrors, etc. Anybody familiar with the procedure?
