I have the subject car. For the last few days whenever i press the signal stick for going to right or left the wipers start working. Very strange. However if i carefully press the stick right from the bottom and not touching the tip of it then the wipers dont come out. It appears that there is some defect in the tip of the stick.

Any suggestions what i should do, as it is really very irratating. In mine area we have lot of sand and very fine dust is always there on the wind screen. So the moment the wipers witout water starts up they really can scratch the whole of the screen.

 

Are you sure you're not pressing into the stick? As in pushing -----> that way when you move it?

 

I am so scared that i no more place my hand on the tip of the stick. What i do is that i plcae my fingers from the bottom of the stick and then move it for the right or left indicator which at times is very difficult also specially changing the lanes or creeping in th etraffic.

However on your inquiry i will again check to move the stick by pressing it the way it should be used for the indicators. I know what are you saying. If you press it inside the wiper will move from their place. Will update you accordingly.

In my region the temprature during the day time shoots up to 52 C. DO you think with the excessive heat in the cabin specially when the car is parked in open sun the plastic parts have detorated with the passage of time?

 

BattleCat U were 100% right. Today i used the stick as it should be used. Suprisingly i am driving for the last 25 years now. Never faced this problem with any car. May be getting old now.
