Default E320 Key Won't Synchronize

I have a 1996 E320 with that darn infra-red remote/alarm system. Problem is that one of the keys will not synchronize. I've checked and replaced the two wafer batteries ... I have followed the instructions provided in the manual ... and nothing. When I press the large button ... the car locks and unlocks .. but both the red and green lights under the review mirror light up and flash for 30 seconds. The "good" key works properly when the large button is pressed ... only the green light flashes when opening and only the red light flashes when closed. Any suggestions for synchronizing the key? thanks --

Thanks for the reply .. When I use the "bad" key, the red and green lights flash simultenuously.

not bad key. it's battery problem too low. i know you replace the battery, but try again.

OK thanks, I'll give it a shot and re-replace the batteries -- I guess its possible the "new" batteries I installed were weak ... I'll get two more and see what happens. I have another post that deals with the keys and was wondering if you could help me out there as well ... my other fob won't release the metal key when I press the little button. I have to pry out the key with a paper clip or if its sticking out just a bit with my finger nail. Is there a way to buy the mechanical part of the fob and replace the working electronics and the metal key? thanks - carlos
