Thumbs down had it go bad TWICE

My wife's 2001 E320 that she keeps immaculately clean and had 100% service at MB through the first 90K had this go bad twice.

The first was around 63K in 2006 and it was replaced under warranty.
Now have 102K on the car and it is bad again (quoted $1200 not at the dealer for MB parts).

Question is what is the warranty on the second one? Same issue rattling as they come loose internally from their mounts. Sounds like a poor design. Since the original warranty was 8/80K I would guess the service life is at least 100K and in that time we have gone through two of them.

Live in South Florida by the beach but do not show any rust in that area and have had the body repainted.

I say you have a point but doubt any suit is worth the aggravation. Bigger question is do I buy another one....are they getting any better on quality since the 01's?
