E320 00-01 are they really as bad as they are made out to be?

May I also suggest that while there are many posts related toissues with W210s, these are from the few actually having problems, and does not necessarily represent the model as a whole.
I would bet for every problem post there are thousands of very happy drivers.
I have used the problem posts as a tool for some preventative actions on my 60K 2000 W210 4Matic.
A few hundred$$ (DYI) is actually inexpensive insurance to avoid many well known pitfalls.
Find one you like, as Ohlord said INSPECT, then INSPECT again. (Ibelieve inPPI)
Most of all enjoy driving a fine "Pre Owned" automobile.
Best Wishes.

I bought "Ava", my 2000 E-320 from a Texas E-bay dealer and could not be too much happier! Beautiful car, had 73k when purchased in July, has 91k now (I drive 800+ miles per week just to work and home!). Only problem so far, recent rash of fuel pump relays going bad. At $66 a pop from the MB dealer, I am searching for a cure for this issue that leaves you stranded at random times when the relay decides to pack it up! I've not seen other posts about this, and am hoping someone will come to my rescue. Other than that, great car and it does turn heads!
