Default E300 td big engine issue!!! URGENT

Hello....need to pick some tech's brains please,got an e300 w210 with the 3.0 diesel lump....had a small crack appear around the bolt boss in the timing chain cover where the belt tensioner bolts on ,that has now turned into a huge piece of aluminium removing its self and the belt tensioner falling off with oil cascading every where......i plan to remove the cover and repair /replace but was looking for some removal advice.....does the cover come out without removing the head and sump or what???? just looking for some pointers before i go in blind!!!! any help would be appreciated,thanks J

It can be done either way.

Send me an e-mail roy@pelicanparts.com

I need
* year
* Model
* VIN#
in the e-mail to unlock the chassis service data.

I will send you the DIY files.

all done now......BUT!,,,,, the casing from the sprinter had 1 difference even though the numbers on it were exactly the same!......the oil feed hole for the vacume pump was not there! ,nor was the detail in the rear of the casing where it takes its feed from the engine,luckily being an engineer and having a bridgeport milling machine I managed to transfer the machining details over onto the sprinter part and it works........big smiles
