Default E300 intermittent Oil light on and off

Hello,

I'm new to the forum.

My 1989 300E oil light goes on an off intermittently while driving. Anything I could do to fix this issue?

Could it be simply a false alarm?

Check the wire connection to your oil pressure sensor, usually located near oil filter.

Default Problem with oil light fixed

Hello,

Thanks for all the tips. Turns out that the oil itself was not a good grade or perhaps not even synthetic and the filter was not original.

Anyways I decided to bring it to a Mercedes repair specialist. He put in the good Mobil synthetic oil and a Bosch filter. Light never came back.

Maybe it was the oil pressure with the bad oil.

Thanks,
Craig
