E200 Elegance 1997 alarm problem
Hi all, Im new to the forum, and have signed up on behalf of my boss...
He owns a 97 E200 Elegance, and it has an alarm fitted to it as standard. It looks kinda like a clifford (judging by the shape & size of the siren). It has an override key input on the back of the siren, so I guess its a battery backup one..
He recently bought the car second hand, and the remote key is completely non functional. He took it to his local shop to have the battery replaced, and they tested it, to conclude that it was knackered.
His central locking is also not working, as I guess the wires to the vacuum have been cut, to allow for the alarm.
Is it possible to get a replacment key fob, but without paying Merc prices? If so, does anyone know how to programme it to the car, as I cannot find any keypads, or valet switches, to input commands to the alarm (he also doesn't have the override key for the siren!!)
or maybe possible to intergrate a univeral rcl module, and connect it to the standard alarm?
Any help would be great!!
Many thanks,
Stuart
