E class convertible boot lid only opens half way
Hi,
I'm a new member, just joined and have an issue.
I have a 2019 E class convertible and as of today, when I open the boot, it only opens half way.
I opened it this morning for work and it opened fine but when I got to work, it now only opens half way and stops solid.
It will close fine every time but every time I open it, it only opens to 45 degrees and then stops firm.
It's a mechanical boot release, not electrical and does the same thing when either using the fob, pressing the button on the boot or boot release from the drivers door.
I know some models have a boot lid limiter but when I went into vehicle settings, the only options I have are acoustic lock, door lock, belt management, fold in mirrors, reversing camera and easy entry/ exit.......nothing for boot lid limiter
I've tried to look at the hinges to see if anything looks broken or could be fouling it but everything appears to look ok, although I'm no expert.
Has anyone else had this issue or could suggest what might be causing it?
Any suggestions would be greatfully recieved.
Thanks in advance
