Hi a newbie question here I am buying a 2007 280E with 35000 miles very clean in every aspect looks new took it to a well known MB dealer and did all the inspection and pass it with flying colors...but I checked the serial number and in falls with the time change sprocket problem...what are my chances of doing a very expensive repair in the future because of it..thank you.

 

Hello and welcome to the forum! I'm not sure that you can get a definitive answer for that - it'll happen to some and not others for whatever reason. I think that the best course of action would be to have a MB mechanic check out its current state and give their opinion on any preventative steps that you could take to lower your chances of running into this issue. Just my 2 cents...
