Aqilea........check the OVPR fuse. Behind the battery is a plastic cover, you will find the fuel pump relay as well as other electronics. The OVPR has a clear, hinged cover with a 10 amp flat (spade) fuse under it. Blown? Probably....Been there done that.

I have a 1990 300E and there is ONE fuse on the OVPR. The cover is a plastic piece that is behind the battery and the relay has a clear cover with one spade type fuse.

The needle on the economy gauge will be shakey if the idle is rough as it runs on vacuum.

The reason I suspected the OVPR fuse is due to your having battery troubles.....I had the same problem.

hi
i m working on my overheating right now . itook the fan clutch ,the tensioer ,all the bracket around the area it si not an easy jop ,took the thermostat and it look ok like new 75c degree im still want to find out why the car was overheating it went up to 115c when the cooling fan kick in and i do not want to damage the headgasket ,i notice the water pump pulley making some noise and wabble when i move it up and down so i decide to R/R THE WATER PUMP hopping will solve the over heating proplem .and then i will let you know about the rough idle , the last time idrove the car it was idle rough only when i put it on park .
since you have 1990 what is the temp shows on you gauge on a stop and go .
