Default Crank Seal and Oil Pan Seal

Any suggestions for someone that is interested in trying to save the 1,200 any drawings would be helpful. I have been told by the mechanic that it is a long job but I do not want to pay the 115 per hour labor rate. I would love some help if there is any suggestions.

Default RE: Crank Seal and Oil Pan Seal

I went to the mechanic this morning and was told the leaking was coming from the crankshaft seal. Is there anyone that can help me do this with detailed information to save the $550.00 The seal itself seems to run aprox. 6-12 dollars. I am willing to learn and put my time in for this kind of savings. Any help would be appreciated...

This is on a 1996 E320.
