Default cooling system service

hi all,

i wanted to do a cooling system service on my mercedes benz. Is there a drain plug for the radiator or do i have to disconnect the lower rad hose?

Is there an engine drain plug to drain the coolant out of the engine and if so where is it located?

Does mercedes benz type fluid have to be used?

which side is the drain plug for the anitfreeze on the block drivers or passangers? Do you have to reach it from the top or from the bottom?

Thanks

If I may add to the question, this link (http://www.mbca.org/pages/tech/MBCA_Antifreeze.htm) suggests that using a coolant other than MB is not a good idea. Sleepwalker, any comments? But I bought some original MB antifreeze and it has a blue color not orange! Are there various types of MB coolant?

yes that's right.

MB coolant is still the best choice if available on the shelf.

the new is BLUE in color now. this will leave a blue/green spot if ever you want to find where the leak was. using an LED or halogen light makes it a bit luminous.

it depends on what kind of engine you got.

the drain plug on the engine block looks different because it has a hole in the middle. very similar to the bleeder on the brake caliper or cylinder.

it can be accessed from up or down.
