Cleaned MAF still getting P0170
I cleaned the MAF on my 96 e320 and reset the MIL with my OBDII tool and the MIL came back on after 20 min. I've ordered a new MAF from Autozone ($154). Has anyone replaced the O2 sensors, did you do both?
It probably IS the MAF sensor.
Often cleaning it does not help; the electronic components on the unit get old andfail value. Toss it.
If it IS the MAF, the car will run like new immediately after installing the new one.
Also, be very critical of the after market parts. They have a very low success rate compared to authentic parts. Just make sure you're satisfied with it before you recycle the box, and let us know how it works too.
