Default CD Changer & Doorspeaker...

Hi,
I am a new member from Sweden.
Anyone know if and how i can mount an MB original CD changer from E320 -97 to a similar one (Stat. Wagon) from -00 with a COMMAND. How hard or easy is it??!!
I am also wondering whether the cables and wires from the COMMAND to the trunk where the changer normally is placed are preinstalled from the factory. The Chassinr is: WDB2102821X041641.

Then I have this front door speaker that sounds like its damaged. I would like to open and take a look, but I am not certain how to deassemble it. Any tips??!!

Thanks fellows
/Rog

Hi Rog,

If I am not mistaking, the 1997 W210 E-class does not have fiber optic wiring (D2B). The 2000 W210s do have fiber optic wiring... meaning that the 1997 Cd changer won't be compatible in the 2000 MB... You can check the 1997 CD changer to see if it is fiber optic or not:
check the back of the CD changer for two separate connectors. If you have one connector with 10-positions, it is not fiber optic. If two connectors are present, one with 3 wires and the other with two orange wires, your changer is fiber optic.

And yes, I think your 2000 E-class is pre-wired for CD changer, but that is something you can check yourself - in the trunk...

greetingz,

BigSis
