Brake Wear Sensor removal??
Does anyone know how to remove the wear sensor from the front brake pads on a 1987 300E? There are two spring arms above the wear sensor. However I think those simply help hold the pads in place. Is it just popped into the pad? I don't want to break them by prying them off.
Thanks for any thoughts.

Hi,
I disagree.
If the sensor loop has not been cut by the disc there is no need to replace the sensor so long as the electrical connector is in good shape.
Usually both sensors on the front brakes (one per side) do not get cut simultaneously. Usually only one sensor on the rear.
Bottom line is how much you get charged for the sensors, whether you are on a tight budget or whether you purchased a full set of sensors just in case and it appears false economy not to change them all.
I personally only change if required.

Yeah, but heck...you can buy sensors all day long! They only cost a couple of dollars, if that. But like you've stated, "if there's nothing wrong with them, no need to bother them.
They for the feedback. I did get one out and the other was pretty stuck. I broke off the little pin pulling it out. After that I decided to replace both since they were only $9 a piece.
Thanks again for the thoughts.
