Hi,

Can any 1 pls pin point the fault in my air conditioner. The Fan seems to work erractically. It can reduce the fan speed all of a sudden of its on accord. And at time it will just not work at all.

Can any 1 help me to diagnose the fault & if its a simple fix?

I had a similar problem with the blower motor in my 1998 E320.

Turns out the fan is just a hunk of junk... the bushings in the motor just crap out and allow the motor to drop enough (not much) to cause the motor to stop running sporadically.... while it's still running get it replaced.

it will be pricey if you take it to a dealership, but you can swap the blower for about $300 from an aftermarket supplier.
