Default Advice Please '96 E300 D

Hi everyone!

I have the opportunity to buy a 1996 E300 Diesel. There are 155k miles on it. I was just wondering if there is anyone out there who owns one or can speak knowledgeably about them. I did a quick search here and found nothing negative but I would like to hear from some people as well.

Thanks!

I told you already,he's the prime mover, the engine of the world, question is where is he?On the D great cars, torque monsters, and if maintained last for ever.
More info on the forum at mbworld.org more members that have them over there.
Good luck
Buy clean, well maintained, inspect, and ask questions before you do the deal if you are in doubt as to anything the seller is telling you.

Mercedes Diesels will hapily do 250K if looked after properly. just watch out for all the usual W210 faults, suspention bushes, rustyrear doors etc. Do your home work, be smart and buy the right one and decide which one of the kids to will it to, because it may out live you.
My dad has a 1983W123 300D and it is still going strong. Not so sure his new C320 CDI will be doing the same that has been in the shop 3 time since 05 and it has only covered 5000 miles. I would hapily buy one even with that milage, just make sure you get a good deal on the prince for that milage.
best wishes
James
