broke timing chain on my 97 e420, 142k. before i put a used motor in or valve job, pistons. i'd love to make sure there is damage. i've been told by a handful of fairly smart guys that there is for sure damage. does MB have a list of motors that are interference ? - any help PLEASE ! jerry

 

Timing chain E420,bent valves at least if not more internal damage from the metal that get tossed.cheaper to rebuild the old block if you know what you are doing,or get a low mile used from aurora auto wrecking in seattle or a wrecker like that by you.
