Default 97 E320 crankshaft sensor problem

After buying ATF from my local MB Dealer and parked the benz working perfect on my driveway and serviced the transmission, to remove the fluid from the converter I moved it with a screw driver until the coverter plug was visible and the tranny was serviced.

Now the car do not start, the engine cranks but do not start, sound dead. Maybe the problem start when the tranny was serviced.

Looking and looking the cranckshaft sensor was dirty, after cleaning the tip and install it back with his spacer washer the engine turned on, I thought the problem was resolve and turned off but, when I try to turned on again the engine cranks and again, dead.

After a few test on the sensor I notice that pulling up aprox. 2mm from his original position the car start with no problem; and remain on when the sensor is pulling back to the original position. Thinking the sensor was damage I bought a new one but no luck, the benz was giving me the same problem.

Also I clean the camshaft posititon sensor, reset the computer and check the ATS.

Why the engine turns on when the sensor is 2mm outside of his original position? Why DO NOT start on his original position? Maybe other sensor is damage?

Please any tip or solution will be appresiate.
Thanxs
