i have a 88 260e with the original becker sound system, is there anything i should know before i try to upgrade to a more modern system any information would be great

 

I just had a Kenwood deck installed on my 1989 260e and there were no problems that i heard of. Even my fader button works on my center console. I would make sure that fader still works and talk to the installers to make sure they know how to work on Mercedes. I am now shopping for the two 4inch speakers on the dash. I think i will replace those my self but be very careful when pulling of the speaker mesh not to damage the dash.
