Default 2001, E320, wagon, center cluster display

I just bought it and love it.

The seven segment led display area that indicates what gear you are in does not display clearly. Is this a simple fix? The small display under the speedometer does the same thing (second picture).

Thank You

T

needs a whole new cluster, but ive seen posts here before saying that they can be fixed or someone knows a place that knows how to repair them. but its not something mercedes does. the true fix is to replace the cluster.

I would check out:
General Development Laboratories (gdl-online.com)
121 Easter Street
Morro Bay, CA 93442
805 772-5127

I had good luck with Peter previously and have recommended him since.

Thank you all. I spoke with a Benz of Portland service writer yesterday. It's a relief to know that a new cluster will only cost $1200- ha ha on me.

I immediately thought "this has components and they are probably available" somewhere. We'll live with it for now but eventually...

I appreciate the responses and will contribute when I actually know something, besides where the gas goes in, about the car.
