Default command center display screen

I drive a 2008 c300 w/ the command center/media package. Was driving it w/ the radio on. Answered an incoming call w/ the answer button on the steering wheel and the flip up display screen went black/dead. Everything else still works. Audio, can change station, adjust volume. Screen is still black. Any suggestions to solve this issue besides taking it to the dealer?

Try pulling the fuse for the display screen to reset it. It is not technically the COMAND on your vehicle beause the COMAND is the operating unit where the buttons are. Usually the screens fail internally, so if you are out of warranty and trying to save money I would recommend going to an aftermarket electronics/audio store to see if they can repair it. Or have the dealer install a new display which comes with a warranty.
