2000 e320 stalled while driving, wont turn over
hello I have a 2000 e320 4matic. I just had the entire electronic shifter replaced at 1200 at a dealer. drove the car off the lot and the check engine light came on. I know the two things weren't related so I left. Car was running fine no noises or codes. On the way home the next day the car lost all acceleration and no matter how hard I pushed the pedal it wouldn't respond. the car then stalled out and now will crank but absolutely will not start. there was no smoke or loud noises. the battery was still strong and I just had the alternator replaced last year. I have a general understanding of cars but am a mechanic by no means. my uneducated guess is a fuel pump or timing chain. car has 150,000 miles regular services done. Any suggestions as to what has caused this and an estimate on the cost to fix it would be greatly appreciated. thank you.

Go back to the dealer because it could be related. The Check engine light can come on for the shifter.
