Hello,

I have a 1983 380 SL with the double row timing chain conversion done. I am trying to help my dad get this car running again, I already found the tutorial on how to fix theodometer onhere and thanks alot for that. Here is the scenario:

Car has been sitting in the driveway and not started for almost two years. Before that the car would run but it took pushing the pedal a few times and cranking about 5 times for the car to start. Now I turn the key and the car just keeps cranking and wont start, I try pushing the pedal down a bit to give it some gas but still it wont turn over. I havent emptied the tank and put new gas in it yet but plan on doing so this weekend. Do you guys have any suggestions what it could be and what I should try first>

try and hear the fuel pump buzz and check pressure on the engine side,by slakin the fuel metal pipe,if prssure ok then wait few minutes so fuel drys,check for spark on the plug lead by puttin a plug on lead and see if thre is any spark need to crank to spark.if all this items are in order then you need to drain the fuel and refresh it.........
