1999 - e430 vacuum door locks
On my 1999 e430 the speed sensitive door locks that automatically lock at 9 mph have stopped locking. Since these work on vacuum there may be something that has gone wrong with the vacuum line which may in turn start effecting other things on the car that depend on vacuum.
Any comments and/or how to fix it will be most appreciated.

RE: 1999 - e430 vacuum door locks
Hi,
Do your locks work normally apart frpom the "Auto" locking?
If so it is unlikely that there is anything wrong with the pump known as the PSE.
Have you changed or disconnected the batteryat about the time the problem occurred?
The auto locking function is a "selectable" feature. This is usually achieved via an MB Star Diagnostics tester (dealer) but some models do allow customer selection via the fascia "Lock.Unlock" button.
Your handbook should define the procedure.
Basically press this switch for about 3 secs continuously and it will change the state of the feature.
If not it is conceivable that the speed signal to the PSE, or the PSE, is faulty but I don't think so.
Hope this helps. let us know.
