Default 1988 300e ignition housing

Has anyone out there replaced the ignition housing on a 300e?

If so, are there are there any special tools necessary for removal or replacement. What is the approximate job time.

Thanks for your reply(s)

The "ignition housing" is actually the ignition switch housing -- and includes the key mechanism, and the housing the key fits into.

Thanks for a reply
