Default 190E Window Issue

I have a 1984190E, 2.3 that I am in the process of fixing up. The drivers window worked fine and then right after a car wash, my kid rolled down the window and then it wouldnt go back up. I thought that this was due to a little water had gotten in. So I let it dry out over night and tried in vain to get the window up. Well its not water...so i took out the switch and replaced it from a working window to check that. The switch isnt the issue, its the motor. I took off the door panel and checked the cost of replacing the motor. What I am wondering--just to get by for a few weeks-- Can I remove the motor, move the window to the up position and then replace the motor?

Default 190E Window Issue

As long as the window regulator is OK -- no problem.
