Default 190e starting problem

so i recently acquired a 1987 190e...the car is in great shape but has been sitting in a basement parking garage for about 2 years...it isnt a bad car though, especially for free, now as i was told, the reason it was parked in the first place is because there was a problem with it starting..... when you first try to start the car, it turns over for a while and then starts right up and stops....it seems to take a while to get it started....the easiest way to start the car is to give it gas while turning it over....
i wanna try and sell it as soon as i can, but i wanna try and get this fixed first...does anyone have any idea what might be wrong???

and while it was sitting some dumb kids tried braking into it and busted out both front door locks, and the trunk lock..they also tried to pry open the sunroof...plus they stole the emblem off the trunk....so also, does anyone know where to get new door locks for cheap???

and if it matters the car only has 82,000 miles

thanks in advance

try ebay for door locks.....
do a complete tune-up (spark plugs, fuel filter..etc) to possibly correct the starting problem. Sounds like old fuel is still getting burned....you could drain the gas tank and dump fuel injector cleaner in there to clean it up a bit. Hope this helps.

I had the same probleme...i got my 1989 190E in a good condition but it was in a parking for 1 year and never got started all that time...So the old gaz got stuck in the pipes and the front of the engine where the fire usuly gets into to make the engine run ( Gasket ) was fluded whit oil...But oil wasent supose to be in there. So you need to go to your dealer or check it yourself to clean it up.

After that if it dosent work...try putting 6 new Spark Plugs.

thats what i can advice you...
