Default 190E Advice -- juddering car

Hi there, I wonder if anyone can help.

I have an old190E Merc, C REG (approx 1985), and it's a wonderful old gal but she judders and vibrates when I stop and put the brake on. It's almost like she wants to move forwards, but can't because I've applied the brakes. This effect is lessened when I put her in neutral.

If anyone can help then it would be great. Do let me know if you want more info.
