Default "Reduced Brake Power" error on E500

G'day,

I am new to this forum, would like some expert advise or suggestion.

I have a 2005 E500 Avantgarde, this morning when driving to work suddenly I saw a red alert on the dash saying "Reduced Brake Power" and suddenly the car started to stop, when applying brakes i had to go real hard on the pedal to slow the car, (very scary).

I ultimately stopped, stop the engine restarted it with the key since before i had started it with keyless go, the arror cleared and the vehicle was back to normal.

There have been continuous rains in Dubai for the last couple of days, i am not sure if that could be the reason for this glitch?? I had also recently around 6 weeks ago changed brakes too?? not sure if anything related.

Please advise if this is dangerous? or might have just be an electrical glitch.

Thanks in advance.

Yes...have it looked at by a dealer.Could have been a fluke but until the system the system is examined there is no way to know. When the SBC system fails, you are left with a maximum of 50% braking on the front wheels only if you stand hard on the pedal.
