I took delivery of my wife's CLS500 Saturday 4/29/06. This is a special order car "light" on adders- Iridium Silver w/ Ash interior , Comfort Package, Sirius Satellite Radio. I had the dealer do minimal prep and I got it before the idots in their "detail shop" touched that "virgin" paint! Three coats of my beloved Zaino Show Car Polish and it looks great.

After being "up close and personal" for a day and a half massaging that Zaino polish into the "virgin" paint I am impressed with the style, fit, and finish. Way too early to tell if the performance and and driving experience are as good as the look. My first impression is there are a lot of electronic gizmos that may or may not add any value.

This is my first Benz. After a horrible experience with an Audi 5000S (not unintended acceleration I must add) some years ago I swore off German cars. I tried to talk my wife into an Cadillac STS-V for the same $$$ as the CLS500 but she would not do it.

Since I (1) love her and (2) need to buy some forgiveness for my Corvette obsession (show and drag racing) I got her what she wanted.

I will keep the MB Forum posted on my CLS500 observations. I am sure I will need some help from the "experts" who post here.

 

Sounds good, I pick up my new CLS this friday and cant wait. I have had a CLK for 4.5 years and finally am about to get rid. Hope she enjoys the 500
