I have a 1998 230 CLK. Despite replacing the wiper blades they don't clear the windscreen and leave bad streaks making visibility difficult. Has anyone else had this problem - do you know how to solve it ??

I have a '01 CLK and I had the same problem. Was worse at night with headlight glare- wiper would slide over the screen and leave it looking like it had oil or wax over it?!
I thought that maybe the previous owner had unwittingly waxed the windows before sale. Anyway I went over the windscreen with a decent car shampoo and then carefully scrubbed it with vinegar (then rinsed it - cause it stinks!). I also changed the blade, which I know you have done. Bosch make a decent enough blade (which I am using) and it seems to be ok. Hope I was some help.
