It might be a dumb question, but does anyone out there know whether I can put wider tires on my 2004 CLK500 Cabrio, using my current rims? If so, what tire size could I go to? Currently it has 225/45-17 in front and 245/40-17 in rear. AMG rims 7.5 front, 8.5 rear. If I can go wider, do I also need to change the aspect ratio? I'm looking for high performance all seasons.

I've searched the forum but it seems most people are swapping rims, and I haven't seen anything pertaining to keeping current rims.
