I apologize if that sounded offensive, but there is a great deal of truth to it. Since it was new the Clk has had one $10K repair, one $4.5k repair, several sets of tires at $1k, and needs repair again now.

As for me being able to "afford" an oil-change, its not about the money as much as it is "knowing" what has or "has-not been done to the car.

I try to be polite when saying this, but my CLK during the last two years for example, has cost $10,000 US in repair and maintenance each year to keep in good condition and running, and it is not backing off.So if someone buys an oldCLK and has a problem with $1000, or even $4000, they are headed for bankruptcy most likely. Now I apologized for the abruptness of my statement, but the financial fact and advice remains, if the owner expects MB or someone else to bail them out on this, theymost likely cannot afford the car. And this "drive-shaft" problem is most likely just the tip of the repairs. People are still trying to cost-justifyand straight-line-depreciate cars out to 200k miles, to make themselves feel better about the sticker-price, but the reality is the car becomes impractical to drive when "major" repairs begin to occur, and these days Mercedes and Hondas are barely making it over the line at 120k miles.
