Default Spark Plugs 320 CLK

Hi, newbie here! I have a 2003 CLK 320 which I have owned since new. I have had all servicing done by my local Merc dealer and now want to do more myself. I seem to be paying big bucks for what is little more than an oil change. The first item on my list is a change of spark plugs. The dealer has quoted a silly price to do this, which suggests the job is not straightforward. Is this a job I can do myself? Iam good with a wrench and have a well equiped garage/workshop.

you need to r/r the airintake, coil packs (have torx?) and plug wires, which are a pain if you dont have the special MB wrench. do it cold as its easier and will help prevent gauling upon removal.

The problem....is that ALL of them are very difficult to get out, because there is only about 2inches between the plug and the wheel-well. It takes me about 3hours to do the job, including snacks. You will find that a traditional socket and ratchet will not work because there is not enough room, especially near the firewall.

Use instead a "gear wrench" that fits over the "sparkplug socket".
