i've been looking for a good used clk320 for about 3 weeks, but just noticed that there are more good deals on the clk500 than clk320. for those who own clk500 (2003 to 2006 years), what are you getting in mileage? clk320 is very economical, checking if one looses very much with the larger engine size on the clk500. thanks in advance for your help.

What is your experience on actual City/Freeway MPG for CLK500?

 

if you are worried about gas mileage at gas less than 2.60 a gallon (91 or 93 octaine) then you have no business owning this car.. I get 27 in my 430 but I hear the 500 gets about 25.. expect to save/put away at least 200.00 a month for maintence and have at least 6k at hand to cover a major repair.. I would of bought a lexus if I knew about this before I bought mine.. just my 2 cents..

 

Thanks for the reply. I own a Lexus LS400 now and never had anything major go wrong with it, 16 years now. The $2.60/gal is temporary, watch the gas prices climb up again. At the highest point, gas was over $5/gal in the Bay Area. LoL This car will be driven daily as a commuter car by my wife, so want to see how different the actual consumption experience really is. The CLK320 is rated 28mpg, but many do not see that in reality. If the CLK500 is getting 25mpg, that's great in my book, I just don't want to be surprised and find out this is a gas hog, only getting 18mpg.

 

On my 2003 CLK 500 I get app 275 miles out of a tank although the Trip computer says almost 400 miles at fill up . Then again I drive my car hard .

 

I recently bought an '04 clk500 and have found this car to be absolutely a blast! This car replaced a '95 SL500 that was fun but did not hold a candle to the clk. Look up the specs on this car...426HP and 0-60 in 5+ seconds! I had to shake my head. I have had 4 E-320 wagons and they are a fine car mind you, but if you can get a clk500 rather than a 320 the fun factor seriously overides the mileage loss. My clk500 gets around 15mpg in town and 21 on the highway. My E-320 wagon gets 18 mpg in town and 25 on the highway. The clk rocks!
