i'm new to this forum,hoping i can learn something from you MB owner outhere.
i just bought a 02 clk320,with 30k mile,my service maint light com on,should i take it to the dealer or is something a general mechanic can do and how do you change the oil in this thing,i can'f fine the nut for the oil pan drain,and where is the oil filter located?

just do it yourself.

oil filter is in the front. you can clearly see it already once you open the hood.

 

thanks sleepwalker,but how do you get the old oil out of the engine?

 

there's a drain plug underneath the engine on the oil pan.

just remove it to let the oil out.

be careful when you're under the car.

car must be level. better find a pit.

 

Also I wanted to add that the car holds just over 8 quarts, so make sure your pan is big enough, and you have 8 qts.

 

I just ordered my 320 factory manuals, I'll let you know if they are worth anything.

Yes, I'm getting the factory set. I prefer the books, but they only make the CD now.
I'm expecting the factory manuals to have ALL the details and drawings etc.
