Default How to operate 2003 clk soft top?

Hi,
Can anyone out there help with the correct way to lower the soft top on a clk. I have a flashing light in the trunk. I have secured the luggage area and opened it, both trying to work the top.
As I pull the release, the windows roll down, I open the top to the required 8 inches, push the button and nothing happens!
Thanks

You have to pull the lever back and hold it all the way back until you hear a beep and the display in the dash reads "Top Open." Not sure what you mean about the "required eight inches."

Also need to make sure the softtop cover in the trunk is latched. If it isn't the top won't go down...you should hear signal when top is all the way down...once top is down and you hear signal the windows will automatically go up if you continue to hold button...if you're in CA, you definitely want the top down...weather is absolutely beautiful, so I hope you figure things out fast ~ ENJOY ~ I know I am!

Default Also...

The roof mechanism will stop if the trunk is open. There are safeties to prevent pieces from bumping together (such as the lid covering the roof storage area and the trunk lid). If the roof "gets stuck" not fully opened or closed, there is a tool in the trunk kit and a hole in the top of the inside of the trunk that it fits into to manually lock/unlock the storage lid. I'd recommend making sure that you practice using it.

The blinking light in the trunk is the emergency escape button for just in case you happen to get stuck in the trunk (which probably won't happen unless you're about 3' tall or less than 5 yrs old).
