Fuel mileage on 2002 CLK
Am wondering about trying 90 or 93(if I can find it) octane non-ethanol gas here in GA. Have read a lot about specs for my car and what other have experience with lower octanes in the MBs. Before ethanol came in (and am not lying about this, my onboard mileage computer would back me up) I would be getting (93 octane) on road trips in the interstate an average of 35 mpg (cruise control, 80 mph and air conditioner or top down).
Since the ethanol, have dropped to 30 mpg on a good day.
Thinking about trying a lower octane (90) to see if I can get the miles back.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Josh
