Driver Seat will not move forward or backwards
I have a 2000 CLK320 and the driverseat will not move backwards or forwards. We have replaced the motor and it still does not work. There is electricity getting to the motor and the motor makes an attempt but the seat does not move. I purchase the vehicle from the auction and I have not been able to get the seat to move backwards or forwards. The seat will recline and incline. Can someone please tell what is wrong. This is my first mercedes and it could be a simple programming thing I need to do to make it work.
Hello,
I have a 2000 CLK320 which has the exact same problem with the seats. The passenger seat stopped moving forward & backwards about a year ago. When my husband, daughter and I go anywhere in the car, I would just sit in the back seat with my little one.
However, about 2 weeks ago, the driver seat stopped moving forwards & backwards. My husband and I are both tall and now we get back pains whenever we drive the car. The dealership told me both seats needs to be replaced at a cost of $2000+ each.
I thoroughly cleaned the car and found a gummy bear trapped in the driver seat track mechanism and some cereal in the passenger seat track (courtesy of my little one). When I press the door control, I hear a clicking sound so it sounds like the signal is going to the seat but something is jammed. The connections all seems secure under the seats as well.
I have read several of the posts and I will check the trunk fuse boxes. Is there anything else I should try?
If I can't figure this out on my own, I will probably go to a non authorized MB repair shop and ask them to troubleshoot, there seem to be a few here in Dallas.
P.S. I just bought another car and I decided to go back to Japanese.

the same exact crap happened to me like 30 min's ago.. I got in my car to go home from work and bam no seat movement forward or backwards.. not even a try.. it was working perfectly before I got my car washed and vaccumed today.. I sure hope it's one of those fuses.. I will see tomorrow or the next day.. I just wish i could move it back like an inch.. lol

looks like we're all screwed but at least we're here to help educate smart soon-to-be MB owners what they should check for in a clk
