CD NAV System swap for DVD system
Has anyone looked into the possibility of swapping out the old cd based nav system for the newer DVD based nav system? Is this pretty much a plu and play except for some fitment issues or are all the wires and stuff completely different?
THANKS!!
THANKS!!
Pre 2005 CLKs have D2B fiber, 2005+ CLKs have MOST fiber. Two VERY different things. So if you want to upgrade from CD-rom based comand to DVD based comand, you need to replace the entire fiberring first. Then replace all additional audio devices you may have for units that work with MOST (such as phone kit, CD changer, linguatronic etc). And you may also need to replace your instrument cluster (and steering wheel)...

Yeah, you can say that again.
However, I know this one guy who did this conversion in his own W203 C-class. It took him quite a lot of time to get his car MOST-ified and gather all additional parts that were needed.
Here is the link to his website, in case you are interested:

COOL!!!! I will have to get in touch with this guy and ask him some questions. Right now I dont think I am up for it due to the cost of it but if I can get the parts here in Germany cheap then I am up for getting it done. I am also interested in some other mods that he has. I gotta make more money now!! I thought I would finally be happy with the car but now I want more and more!!
LMAO...its yalls fault for getting me into modding the CLK 430!!
