Have heard mention in forum of Silverstar bulbs' brightness...am confused-are they halogen which requires re-wiring or simply bulb replacements easy to snap in and offering much improved nighttime visability...at higher cost i assume...

They are plug-n-play halogens. They may be a little brighter since so many people say they are. I can't tell the difference so they aren't "much improved." I will say they are high-quality bulbs and may shine brighter than cheaper bulbs, especially those cheesy blue-tinted joke lights. I think they cost a dollar or two more. Not sure exactly why.
